This policy explains what information Swag Tag ("the game," "we," "us") collects when you play, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Swag Tag is built for exploring, mining, and messing with your friends — not for tracking you more than we need to.
Information we collect
Account & profile data — your username, avatar, and friend/crew connections, managed through PlayFab, our backend service for accounts, progression, and player data.
Gameplay data — progress, inventory, planets explored, and in-game actions, stored via PlayFab so your save carries across sessions.
Multiplayer & networking data — connection and session data (such as your IP address and network quality) processed by Photon, our real-time networking provider, to connect you with your crew during multiplayer sessions.
Device & technical data — device type, operating system, and crash or performance logs, used to keep the game running smoothly on Meta Quest headsets.
Purchase data — if Swag Tag offers in-game purchases, these are processed through PlayFab's economy system and the Oculus Store; we do not store your full payment details ourselves.
How we use this information
To run core gameplay: saving progress, syncing your gear, and connecting you with your crew.
To fix bugs and improve performance, using crash reports and technical logs.
To keep multiplayer sessions safe, including moderating chat and enforcing our community rules.
To communicate with you about updates, if you've opted in.
Sharing your information
We don't sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:
Oculus, as the platform Swag Tag is distributed and played on.
PlayFab (Microsoft), which hosts player accounts, saves, and progression data on our behalf.
Photon, which handles real-time networking and connection data for multiplayer sessions.
Authorities, if required by law.
Each of these providers processes data only to provide their service to us and is bound by their own privacy and data-protection terms.
Your choices
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it — see our Data Removal page.
You can disable optional data sharing (such as analytics) in the game's settings, where available.
You can stop playing and uninstall the game at any time; some data may remain in backups for a limited period afterward.
Children's privacy
Swag Tag is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.
Data retention & security
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the game and for legitimate business purposes, such as security and legal compliance. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no system is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and post major changes on this website.
